Did you know between 20-30% of the population experience problems falling asleep or staying asleep. The reasons are many and varied, including anxiety, sleep apnoea and poor sleep hygiene (i.e. overuse of technology and/or too many wines before bed). Short-term effects of too little sleep include changes in mood: feeling tired, cranky, depressed, unmotivated, indecisive and unable to process information. We may also be disinclined to exercise and more likely to make poor food choices due to our appetite hormones becoming irregular.
Join Dr Carmel to learn about the different stages of the sleep cycle and the impacts on our body and brain. Solutions to common sleep challenges will be discussed, supporting you with practical strategies to trial at home.
